Customer Reviews Gary L. Green Said: Good Product Killed by Lousy Support ( Oct. 4th 2009 )WORD OF WARNING: Anyone who is a Mac User, Line6 support is horrible for the Mac. Current programs and drivers are NOT working for Snow Leopard. This is typical of Line6. SL has been out for developers for over a year. Line6 has chosen to ignore the Mac user base. I suggest another company, like Native Instruments.S. Gaither Said: Awesome ( May. 6th 2009 )I feel like I own every guitar amp ever made. It truly does imitate amps very well. It is a bit overwhelming to jump into the learning curve, but youtube videos were very helpful. I have yet to find a way to make my electric guitar sound like an acoustic, which is a bit disappointing. I was hoping to eliminate one guitar to my act. I believe it is the best effects pedal made. Maybe I haven't learned how to make it work correctly, but when I switch from A bank to D, then back to A, I am no longer on the preset that I had set up when I went to D. The manual that came with it was version A, and D is the current, so I had to print a 90 something page manual. But, I love it over all. I'm walking out the door to practice with it now.N. S. ALSINAN Said: One rig to another totally different one in a STOMP! ( Apr. 12th 2009 )This is an updated review of the POD X3 Live. I'll start by saying that the POD X3 Live is very versatile, and with the included Gearbox tweaks and patch creation is a breeze. Everyone will have their own kind of setup connection, I have mine wired with the live out going through to a powered PA and the direct going to a PC recording interface, a setup which I found works best for me. Although you can switch the output level for direct or amp setting which affects the live output, I just couldn't find a sweet spot for my amp (a half stack SLX-900 with 6l6 power tubes). If I chose to run it through the amp I would have to use the effects loop (if anyone has advise for me on any other way to connect the POD to the amp it would be very much appreciated). However, I'd rather use the amp dry or with minimum setup of stomp boxes. With two effects "channels" for each preset location you get great flexibility, mixing and matching of the sounds for the song application and gradual fade in by flipping the volume for each preset for volume pedal. The unit works great with Cubase, Adobe Audition and more importantly RiffWorks. With a full license of RiffWorks you get a great recording tool which is riff based, layer upon layer of riffs (I think up to 48) which is a simple yet effective way to lay dawn a song tracks. One drawback is the drumming tool Instant Drummer, it is just kind of linear and with very limited (or no) room for modification. You are limited by the styles and beats available for purchase, so you will not be able to create your own drum lines. With GuitarPort you get a great learning tool with lessons, accurate tabs and backing tracks (with or without rhythm/ lead/ bass) along with each tone. In summary: The unit is AWESOME! Pros: - Great amp/cab stomp box modeler, amazing tones. - Hardware controls on the POD give you immediate control over the some parameters (drive/treble/mid etc.). Clear big screen easy to read and edit parameters. - Versatile inputs on the back of the unit. Should accommodate most applications, Need to Jam? plug an MP3 and you're ready to go. If you are a vocalist plug in a mic and use very good mic pre amps. Usfull to mic an acoustic guitar also - Great product support/dedication, constant updates and tweaks from Line6. - A lot of great thing that will be too much to list. Cons: - Some presets are utterly useless, not a major draw back. - Just can't get it to work for my amp through the front input as stated in the manual.Dimitar Blagoev Said: Good stuff, good service... ( Aug. 13th 2008 )What I got is what I wanted and expected. Came on time, even before time. I am pretty happy!J. Valle Gonzalez Said: Line 6 POD X3 Live ( May. 19th 2008 )Pro's: This is a very powerful gadget; with the dual tone thing you can achieve a very round and unique sound. About recording using the USB out, the X3 Live really is a zero latency device, and it's is compatible with most of the recording soft wares. It's really easy to use and program, especially at the computer with the gearbox software. The sound emulation it's quite accurate and it gives you access to almost any tone you're looking for. Con's: The X3 Live looks really cool, but you don't want to take it on stage. I'm sure that this thing can't take the regular on tour treatment, the sides a bottom of the unit are plastic, and switches have a cheap fell. If you really want to use and achieve all the potential of this thing you have to use it plugged into a true stereo system. Here's the deal, this is a really cool thing if you want to achieve a very unique sound. But it still has several bugs and system issues, I know that line 6 is working to solve all this, but in the mean time you have to deal with some of the weird behaviors form this unit.« Back Line 6 POD X3 Live Amp Modeler and Effects processor
